The complete list of Marvel films (released and upcoming)

Updated: Jan 26

Who doesn’t love Marvel? Maybe some old dudes like Martin Scorsese may call them as theme parks, but this generation and most of the previous generations love them. And in fact, most of us don’t call marvel as films, we think them as a reality in a parallel universe and even, we named them as Marvel universe.

That’s a brief introduction to Marvel for Marvel fans– wait! Are you really a marvel fan?… Are you? Then you should have already known all the marvel films and also the upcoming films. But if you are not a marvel fan, and are like me; fan for only a few superheroes like Ironman, Spiderman, black panther, etc. then this blog is for you.

It’s not like I’m provoking Marvel fans, but I just want to make it clear what is there in this blog.

Then let’s begin!

Iron Man (7.9)

Released on May 2, 2008; it’s the birth of Iron man and most of us who never read comics, it’s the one which gave us the taste to the Marvel. And the fact about Iron man is, he is the most liked superhero after Spiderman and the DC’s Bat.

The Incredible Hulk (6.8)

Released on June 13, 2008; this is the birth of the most strong and the most huge (when not compared to Antman in his giant form) character, The Incredible Hulk. But this is not the true birth of Hulk; there is another film Hulk (2003) which in fact the first movie of Hulk and the incredible Hulk is the developed version with a different cast.

Iron Man 2 (7)

Released on May 7, 2017; this is the second one of the Iron Man Franchise. There is nothing much to say about Iron man in this one, but the supervillain is one of the evilest villains of Marvel.

Thor (7.0)

Released on May 6, 2011; this is the birth of the Greek Gods origin- superhero Thor, son of Odin and brother of Loki. BTW, this was the one which made many of us interested in Greek mythology.

Captain America: The First Avenger (6.9)

Released on July 22, 2011; I have nothing to say about Captain Marvel. But in one word, he is the most gentleman and the wisest (He can wield Thor’s Hammer) superhero of Marvel.

Marvel’s The Avengers (8.1)

Released on May 4, 2012; the first multi-heroes movie of marvel. This is where we get to see the five superheroes at the same time.

Iron Man 3 (7.2)

Released on May 3, 2013; this is my most favorite Iron Man movie and would remain the same even in the future. And about the climax, it is my favorite part, I can never get used to it.

Thor: The Dark World (7.0)

Released on Nov 8, 2013; there is nothing much to tell about this.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier (7.8)

Released on April 4, 2014; I don’t know how it got a 7.8 IMDB, but it was not at all for me. So, I’m gonna skip on this too.

Guardians of the Galaxy (8.1)

Released on August 1, 2014; this is what Marvel is! Love, friendships, superheroes, E.T stuff and the big pinch of comedy to mix them well. This is the top-rated Marvel Film apart from the Avengers list.

Avengers: Age of Ultron (7.4)

Released on May 1, 2015; two things I never forget about of Age of Ultron, one, creation of The Vision and Ultron, and second, Captain America lifting the Thor Hammer an inch and Vision easily using it!!!!

Ant-Man (7.3)

Released on July 17, 2015; this is when we first get to know a superhero who can shrink to the size of an ant but can tackle big villains and also some toy trains lol.

Captain America: Civil War (7.8)

Released on May 6, 2016; when I first heard there would be Iron Man and Captain America fighting against each other, I thought it is just a rumor, but when the film got released, I was like “WTF!”, but the movie was not disappointing like I thought it would be instead it was more like Avengers with all of your heroes fighting together and pretty well, I loved it. And the main thing about this film, you got to see Spider-Man after a long gap.

Doctor Strange (7.5)

Released on November 4, 2016; strictly speaking, I never expected the movie to be like the way it was. And if you want me to explain the movie, I can brag about it for a whole day, that’s how much I loved watching the modern magic on the big screen.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (7.7)

Released on Aug 1, 2014; it’s said it was disappointing because of the high expectations based on the first volume, but it stood still against the race and win many of our hearts.

Spider-Man: Homecoming (7.5)

Released on July 7, 2017; this is what spider man fans like me waited for. It felt disappointing compared to the original Spider-Man series and also about the age of Spider-Man and even her aunt, became a perfect meme material.

Thor: Ragnarok (7.9)

Released on November 3, 2017; this was the most tragic film for Thor Hammer fans like me and my friend. The shattering of Hammer was unexpected for both of us and we just couldn’t take it.

Black Panther (7.3)

Released on February 16, 2018; I simply love the technology in Black Panther more than I don in first Iron Man. The suit, the 3D printing of neurons and black panther sister, I can’t stop loving them.

Avengers: Infinity War (8.5)

Released on April 27, 2018; this was one of the most awaited movie of all time. All the marvel lovers kept waiting for it for a long long time. You just need to see it yourself to understand its magnificence and popularity.

Ant-Man and the Wasp (7.1)

Released on July 6, 2018; this is not at all like the first part. It has fewer emotions and less content, and most of us knew, it was just filmed to make ant-man struck in quantum so that he would then appear in the End Game.

Captain Marvel (7.1)

Released on March 8, 2019; this is the first female superhero film. Like the AntMan and the Wasp, even this was for the End Game. Most of nearly hated this film, but it somehow managed to get the 7.1.

Avengers: Endgame (9.0)

Released on April 26, 2019; what to say! Endgame broke all the records a film can hold. It has the highest gross (after the second release), highest popularity, highest rating for superhero films, etc. There is no need to speak about Endgame because nearly the whole world saw it.

Spider-Man: Far From Home (7.6)

Released on July 2, 2019; this is the last released Marvel film after the death of Iron Man which left many heartbroken. Many wanted to see Iron Man in this one, but we have been disappointed.

Upcoming Marvel Films

Black widow

Set to release on May 1, 2020; the trailer is already released and having a good talk, but the important thing everyone is looking forward to is, the cast contains the Iron Man Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr). We should probably wait for five more months to see the glorious comeback of our Iron Man and hope we will get to see him for a long duration.

Eternals

Set to release on Nov 6, 2020; this is not related to any of the earlier Marvel films. Two important things about this are movie is, the plot feels like Guardian of Galaxy with many species (not confirmed, but from comics version). The second one, Angelina Jolie for the first time entering the Marvel universe.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

Set to release on Feb 12, 2021; this is completely unrelated to the other Marvel films and is about the ‘Master of Kung-Fu’ Shang-Chi (in comics). Maybe we can again witness the real kung-fu like in Shaolin soccer or in kung-fu panda.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Set to release on May 7, 2021; it revolves around Dr.Strange deciding to choose between resigning from his power and going into another world filled with darkness. And some reports say it might be the first horror film in Marvel.

Thor: Love and Thunder

Set to release on Nov 5, 2021; we could see two thors in this film (original male played by Hemsworth and then the female thor by Natalie).
