What is Fever?
This is probably the dumbest question! But do we really know exactly what it is?
And also do the saying, "Fools don't catch the fever", is that right?
The answer for you- A part of the brain called the hypothalamus controls body temperature, which usually varies throughout the day from the normal temperature of 98.6 F. In response to an infection, illness, or some other cause, the hypothalamus may reset the body to a higher temperature.
That means fever or high temperature is due to some sort of brain's resetting process like in mobile, but it doesn't depend on your intelligence and the saying is completely false.
Just like our mobiles which start acting weird because of the third-party apps, ads, unknown viruses, insufficient space, etc., our body is the same, it catches a fever when
# overexposure of skin to sunlight, or sunburn
# heat stroke
# silicosis, a type of lung disease caused by long-term exposure to silica dust
# alcohol withdrawal
We are generally unaware of this, but there are different types in fever
# low grade, from 100.5–102.1°F or 38.1–39°C
# moderate, from 102.2–104.0°F or 39.1–40°C
# high, from 104.1–106.0°F to or 40.1-41.1°C
# hyperpyrexia, above 106.0°F or 41.1°C
And also they are classified by the length of time.
# If it lasts less than a week, it is acute
# If it lasts up to 2 weeks, it is sub-acute
# If it lasts more than two weeks, it is chronic
Note*- Reach out a doctor if it lasts more than three days and if it looks growing or consistent, hurry to a nearby hospital!
1) Most imp, rest well.
2) Drink a lot of fluids, but avoid alcohol, tea, and coffee.
3) Take general medications paracetamol, aspirin, acetaminophen, etc.
4) Eat fruits, bread, and simple foods for easy digestion.
5) Bath with lukewarm water and wait for the sweat.
Sweat is the sign indicating your immunity is kicking in and killing the foreign things in your system which are then flushed out through your skin pores like sweat.
Most of the diagnosis steps repeat here and in short, don't over-exercise, manage your stress levels, eat a lot of fruits, keep your environment clean and hygienic.
And more importantly, smile a lot, it avoids 90% of the diseases from reaching your body.
Advice from my side
Drink water added with sugar daily. Sugar is sucrose and is directly glucose. Consuming nine spoons of sugar daily will keep you perfectly healthy, and drinking sugar added water is equivalent to drinking a branded and high modern sports drink and is scientifically proven.
Keep smiling and be healthy because health is wealth.
